What it is
A yellow mineral used for centuries against fungi, especially powdery mildew. It is sold as a wettable powder for spraying. Indoors, vaporizers that sublimate it (turn it into vapor) at night are also used.
How it works
It stops the fungus spores from germinating and slows down what is already there. It is more preventive than curative: it works very well if applied at the first symptom.
How it is applied
Diluted in water, on all the leaves, with the light off. And the most affected leaves are removed. At the same time you have to fix the cause: lower the humidity and move the air.
Precautions
Not used at high temperatures (above 30 °C it burns the leaves) nor together with oils like neem: leave two weeks between one and the other. Not used in flowering: it leaves taste and smell on the buds. Use gloves and a mask: it irritates.
After curing
Getting rid of the pest or mold stops the damage, but it does not give back what the plant already lost: eaten leaves do not come back and the plant recovers on its own, little by little. During those days it is best not to do anything else to it: no pruning, no training, no sudden changes. The longer it had the pest, the harder it is.
▲ Pros
- Cures powdery mildew instantly
▼ Cons
- Useless against pests
- Ruins the taste in flowering
🎮 Practice it in UnderGrow
Cures powdery mildew (treat) and prevents it for a week (7 real h), even if it's not there yet. The starter kit comes with 2 uses (the shop sells 3). In flowering it ruins the flavor: you see it in the price. Curing does not give health back: it rises on its own, only with the stress bar below 20 % (and that bar drops 1 % per game hour if nothing else happens to it). Until then, do not prune or train it.
