Bloom fertilizer (flowering)

What it is

A fertilizer with a lot of phosphorus (p) and potassium (k) and almost no nitrogen. It is the "flowering booster" or "bulking" fertilizer: what the plant needs most to build and fill the buds.

Why in flowering

In veg the plant builds leaves and uses nitrogen. When it flowers things change: phosphorus gives it the energy to make flowers and potassium moves sugars to the buds, which get denser and heavier. Too much nitrogen in flowering makes airy buds with a bad taste.

How to use

You start when flowering starts, with low doses that rise toward the middle (the bulking weeks) and drop at the end. It is stopped 1 or 2 weeks before harvest. Like any fertilizer, too much burns the tips.

▲ Pros

  • Your plant's food in flowering
  • Up to +12 % harvest grams

▼ Cons

  • Not used in veg: that's for grow

🎮 Practice it in UnderGrow

From pre-flower to harvest it is your plant's food, instead of grow. You give it by tapping the plant › feed: each dose adds 50 % to the nutrient bar. Every flowering hour with the bar between 35 % and 100 % counts towards a bonus of up to +12 % harvest grams. Hours fed by the wick with bloom count half (the whole flowering on the wick: +6 % grams). If you overdo it or forget, those hours don't count, and if the bar empties, the plant goes hungry.
