Remove male flowers

What it is

Removing by hand the male flowers that a female has grown, before they release pollen and fill the buds with seeds.

How to do it

With tweezers, each male flower (a yellow ball or "nanner") is plucked from the base, being very careful not to shake the plant. Some growers spray water first: wet pollen doesn't fly. Then check every day until harvest, because they tend to come back.

And the cause

If you don't fix the stress that caused it (light leaks, heat, schedule changes), it keeps producing them. If there are many, it is better to move it away from the others or just remove it.

▼ Cons

  • They can come back: check often with the lens
  • A bit of stress

🎮 Practice it in UnderGrow

It's done with prune › remove the male flowers. It stresses a little and they can come back: check it often with the lens. If you remove them within 1 real h (24 game h) of seeing them, the harvest doesn't come out with seeds; past that, it comes out with seeds and is worth less.
