Remove rotten buds

What it is

The only way to stop botrytis (gray mold) once it appears: remove the rotten bud. There is no product that cures it without ruining the buds.

How to do it

  1. Scissors clean and disinfected with alcohol.
  2. The whole bud is cut, with a few centimeters of healthy margin below the rotten part.
  3. It goes in a bag right there, without shaking it: the spores fly and infect the others.
  4. It's thrown out far from the grow and the scissors are disinfected.
  5. All the neighboring buds are checked, opening them carefully.

Later

You have to change what caused it: lower the humidity (40 to 50 %), move the air between the plants and remove leaves that trap moisture. If the plant is almost ready and the mold is spreading, sometimes it is better to harvest early than to lose everything.

▲ Pros

  • Stops mold before it spreads

▼ Cons

  • You lose those buds
  • A bit of stress

🎮 Practice it in UnderGrow

Done with prune › remove rotten buds. You lose those buds (if you catch it early with the lens, almost nothing) and it stresses the plant a little. Afterward, lower the humidity.
