What it is

A batch is a group of plants treated as one unit: same strain, sown on the same day, with the same watering, the same fertilizer and the same harvest. It's how any big crop is organized, whether cannabis or tomatoes.

Why it's done this way

It's impossible to look after a hundred plants one by one. In even batches, what works for one works for all, and everything gets planned: when to water, when to switch to flowering, when to harvest. That's why big grows prefer clones from the same mother: they all come out the same.

The problem

What happens to one happens to all. A pest or fungus that starts on one plant spreads to the ones next to it, and from one batch to the neighbor. And a plant with its own problem (a clogged dripper) gets lost among the others. That's why a sample of plants is checked with a lens every day.

🎮 Practice it in UnderGrow

In the warehouses and the field, each batch is handled as one plant (10, 20 or 60 plants). A pest starts on one and every 2 days it spreads to more; if it takes half a batch, it jumps to the neighbors. The lens looks at one sample plant. The wick isn't used: that's what drip is for.
